NETA works with a small group of mezcaleros around Santa María la Pila and the wider Miahuatlán district, bottling each distillation on its own terms rather than blending toward a fixed profile. Batches are tiny, and many releases never repeat.
The label's reputation rests on how little it intervenes: traditional in-ground roasting, open-air fermentation, and bottling at the strength the mezcalero cut to. Labels carry producer, agave, village and batch data, so bottles can be tracked precisely.
Espadín and espadín-led ensambles form the backbone, with cuixe, papalometl, tobalá, coyote and tepextate appearing as harvests allow.
What NETA is known for
Very small single batches, direct long-term relationships with a handful of Miahuatlán families, and a purist, minimal-intervention approach that enthusiasts follow batch by batch.
Where to start in the range
Start with an Espadín or an espadín-led ensamble to learn the house character, then move to Cuixe or Papalometl for the wild-agave expressions the label is best known for.

Neta — frequently asked
- Why do NETA bottles vary so much?
- Each bottling is one small batch from one mezcalero, so agave, season and cut all change between releases even under the same name.
